The Fourth Region Border Command announced that it had thwarted an infiltration attempt from the Iranian side in the Shalamjah area, east of Basra.

A source in the leadership told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The detachments of the Sixteenth Brigade thwarted an infiltration attempt and arrested an Iranian infiltrator, after monitoring him with thermal cameras in the Shalamjah police point on the Iraqi-Iranian border.
