The security forces arrested a dangerous suspect in drug trafficking, and seized various weapons in his possession in Dhi Qar.

A statement by the Dhi Qar Police Command stated: "A joint force from the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs and the Commander's office, with legal approvals, raided the house of the accused (H.O.W.) in Nasiriyah and seized narcotic pills of the type known locally as sedatives, weapons and various equipment."

He added, "The necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, and the investigating judge decided to arrest him based on Article 28 of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Law."
