Mecca: Rebecca Hussein, an American pilgrim with a hearing impairment and a guest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation, commended the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance for its exceptional efforts in serving pilgrims-especially those with special needs-by providing an environment that is both supportive and spiritually uplifting, enabling them to perform the rituals with ease and devotion.

According to Saudi Press Agency, she described her conversion to Islam as a profound transformation, bringing her immense reassurance and inner peace. Following her conversion, she felt compelled to learn sign language for religious terms, aiming to convey Islam’s message to the deaf community in the United States. Her dedicated efforts have since led to the conversion of 30 deaf individuals to Islam.

Rebecca said the program offers a unique spiritual and humanitarian experience, with the Kingdom’s dedicated care and attention to the deaf during Hajj embodying Islamic values of mercy and justice, further reinforcing the Kingdom’s leading role in serving pilgrims worldwide.
