Alula: The Royal Commission for AlUla, through the AlUla Languages Institute, is advancing its Ancient Languages Revival Program, a dedicated initiative to preserve and promote the region’s profound linguistic history. By bridging the gap between antiquity and the present, the program highlights AlUla’s role as a historic crossroads of civilizations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the curriculum offers specialized courses in several ancient languages historically recorded in the region, including Aramaic, Thamudic, Dadanite, Lihyanite, and Nabataean. A highlight of the program is the “origins of writing” course, which provides a fascinating look at the evolution of human expression from early symbols to sophisticated scripts.
