ALECSO Highlights Significance of Palestinian Land Day in Arab Identity

Tunis: The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) reaffirmed the importance of Palestinian Land Day, observed on March 30 each year, in the Arab collective consciousness due to its historical and national significance, reflecting the Palestinian people's steadfastness to their land, identity, and legitimate rights.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued from its headquarters in Tunis, the organization described commemorating this occasion as a remembrance of a pivotal moment in the history of the Palestinian cause, dating back to the uprising in 1976, which represented a clear expression of rejection of land confiscation policies and a firm commitment to Palestinian rights.

ALECSO emphasized that land remains a central element in the Palestinian cause, given its historical, cultural, and humanitarian dimensions, and as the foundation of national identity.

The organization reiterated that the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to self-determination, are established rights in accordance with international legitimacy and conventions.

In conclusion, ALECSO called on the international community, in all its components, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to work toward creating conditions that enable the Palestinian people to attain their freedom and the independence of their state with Jerusalem as its capital.
