Riyadh: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority showcased its “Al-Mustajeeb” application at the Global Health Exhibition 2025, highlighting its contribution to enhancing community preparedness for rapid emergency response. The application is recognized as a national innovation that leverages technology to improve the quality of ambulance services and reduce response times to patients.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the application works by connecting emergency reports to the nearest accredited first responders within a radius of no more than five kilometers of the incident location, ensuring rapid initial support during the critical minutes before the arrival of specialized Red Crescent teams.
The Red Crescent operations rooms are responsible for monitoring the report and directing these responders via instant notifications, ensuring their timely arrival and adherence to clear safety standards. The overarching goal is to provide necessary initial care and stabilize the patient until the specialized ambulance team arrives. The app relies on a network of community members who have received certified training in first aid and emergency response, thereby reinforcing the concept of a “responsive community” that actively contributes to saving lives and reducing health complications through early intervention.
“Al-Mustajeeb” application reflects a fundamental shift in how emergencies are managed. It achieves this by reducing response times, enhancing coordination between first responders and operations centers, increasing the rate of immediate intervention before ambulances arrive, and building a conscious community culture that supports rescue efforts.
