Al-Mithnab Dates Season Attracts Over 3,000 Farms’ Produce

Al-mithnab: The auction area at the Al-Mithnab Dates Season in Al-Mithnab Governorate is bustling with activity as it receives produce from more than one million palm trees spread across over 3,000 farms. This seasonal event draws daily crowds of farmers, traders, and shoppers eager to participate in the vibrant market.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the central market in Al-Mithnab Governorate is experiencing increased commercial activity, with daily auctions showcasing over 50 varieties of dates. Among these, the Sukkari variety stands out, although numerous other varieties, for which the governorate's farms are renowned, are also prominently featured.

Tamim Al-Aboudi, Director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's office in Al-Mithnab, highlighted the season as a significant marketing opportunity for farmers. The organized environment facilitates connections between farmers, traders, and consumers, enhancing the quality of dates and streamlining buying and selling processes.

He further mentioned that dates are subject to direct inspection before entering the auction area to assure their safety and quality. Continuous inspection tours are conducted, and the display areas are systematically organized with routes for specific varieties to enhance the shopping experience and help distinguish between different products.
