Al-Kharj: The first Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee, which started on January 10, concluded yesterday, drawing over 700,000 visitors. Chairman of the festival’s organizing committee Abdulaziz Al-Sharif announced that the festival, which recorded sales exceeding SAR10 million, received significant support from Governor of Al-Kharj Prince Fahd bin Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz due to its cultural importance, celebration of traditions, and contribution to the national economy.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the festival is part of a broader series of events planned by Al-Kharj governorate, aimed at showcasing the Kingdom’s economic strength across various sectors that provide self-sufficiency, contribute to food security, and foster an ideal and secure investment environment, all in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The festival was inspired by the renowned dates of Al-Kharj and surrounding governorates, along with Saudi coffee, which are symbols of generosity and staples in every home. The event brought together companies, institutions, experts in dates and Saudi coffee, and individuals with valuable experience in palm and coffee tree cultivation, creating the largest gathering of farmers and producers.
