Al-Khalifa Appointed to Governance, Risk, and Compliance Council of Institute of Internal Auditors

Riyadh: The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has appointed Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors member Yazeed Al-Khalifa to its newly established Governance, Risk, and Compliance Council, which was created to strengthen the integration of governance, risk management, compliance, and oversight systems in support of stakeholders with shared interests and to enhance governance practices worldwide.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Khalifa was selected alongside several international experts specializing in governance, risk management, and compliance to contribute to the development of professional practices, strengthen institutional resilience, and enhance the effectiveness of governance and oversight frameworks.

The appointment reflects the growing presence of Saudi professionals in international professional organizations and the Kingdom's standing in internal auditing and related disciplines. It also highlights the Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors' role in supporting national talent, advancing the profession, and strengthening its regional and international presence.

Al-Khalifa has extensive professional experience in strategy, governance, risk management, and compliance. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree and an Executive Leadership certificate from Harvard University. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions at national organizations, including the Royal Commission for AlUla. He currently serves on several boards of directors and audit and risk committees across government entities and private companies.
