Al-Khabra Dates Festival in Qassim Creates Commercial Opportunities, Empowers Youth

Al-khabra: The Al-Khabra and Riyadh Al-Khabra Dates Festival in Qassim Region is one of the key seasonal events supporting the agricultural economy in Riyadh Al-Khabra Governorate.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the festival generates continuous commercial and economic activity, contributing to the growth of the date trade and boosting buying and selling activity. It also increases demand for logistics services, supporting supply chains and enhancing the efficiency of product distribution to local and international markets.

The festival contributes to economic activity in Qassim Region by creating direct and indirect seasonal employment opportunities. It supports the local economy and provides jobs in various areas related to the festival's organization and operations throughout its 45-day duration.

The festival aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by supporting agricultural development, diversifying sources of income, enhancing local content, and improving the efficiency of the dates sector. These efforts strengthen the sector's competitiveness and support its sustainable growth.

Executive Director of the festival Fahd Al-Rasheed said the festival serves as a venue for economic, heritage, and tourism events that combine local character with commercial and entertainment activities. He noted that it provides a suitable environment for seasonal events that stimulate economic and tourism activity.

Al-Rasheed said the festival will run for 45 days and feature 160 commercial outlets, welcoming around 80 date marketers daily. It will also provide parking for more than 2,000 vehicles across an area exceeding 50,000 square meters.
