Al-Aqiq Valley Walkway Highlights Historical Significance, Natural Charm of Madinah

Riyadh: Al-Aqiq Valley walkway is a key tourist destination in Madinah, combining historical significance with natural beauty. It offers an experience rooted in the Prophet’s biography and documented Islamic history.

According to Saudi Press Agency, visitors can see landmarks such as the sites of the palaces of Saad ibn Abi Waqqas and Urwa bin Al-Zubayr, along with ancient inscriptions engraved on stones throughout the area.

Located approximately six kilometers from the Prophet’s Mosque near the Islamic University of Madinah, the walkway is easily accessible. Spanning about 1,600 meters in length and 14 meters in width, it covers approximately 16,500 square meters.

Designed to harmonize urban development with nature, the walkway features pedestrian paths, seating areas, and modern lighting systems for enhanced safety. The plazas showcase Madinah’s iconic palm and shade trees, and the slip-resistant flooring meets the highest safety standards.

This project aligns with efforts to stimulate domestic tourism, enhance quality of life, and position Madinah as a destination combining historical authenticity with contemporary development, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
