Acting Vice Minister of Interior Attends Opening of First International Azem Addiction Treatment Conference

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Acting Vice Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf attended the opening ceremony of the First International Azem Addiction Treatment Conference today. The event was organized by the Medical Services Directorate at the Ministry of Interior under the theme ‘Between Prevention and Treatment.’

According to Saudi Press Agency, Supervisor General of the Ministry’s Medical Services, Dr. Saleh bin Zaid Al-Mohsen, highlighted that the conference builds on the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health and strengthen prevention and treatment strategies in line with best international practices. Dr. Al-Mohsen emphasized that the event serves as a specialized scientific platform, gathering leading experts and specialists from both inside and outside the Kingdom to discuss the latest research and practices in addiction prevention and treatment.

The two-day conference, held with the participation of several health and research institutions, is seen as one of the Kingdom’s key national initiatives. It aims to enhance mental health, boost community prevention, and support the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives of fostering a healthy, aware, and sustainable society.
