ACP and Delta Forge Pact for Direct Riyadh-Atlanta Flights at WTM Spotlight

Riyadh: The Air Connectivity Program (ACP) has entered into a cooperation agreement with Delta Air Lines, finalized on the sidelines of the WTM Spotlight Riyadh. The initiative is set to enhance direct flight connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the United States, broadening Saudi Arabia's international destination network.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement is designed to facilitate the launch of direct flights between Atlanta and Riyadh. This move will simplify travel for passengers from the US to Saudi Arabia and expand travel options between the two nations. The newly anticipated route will utilize Airbus A350 aircraft, providing over 85,000 round-trip seats annually, thus increasing travel and tourism opportunities between the two countries.

Ahmed Albrahim, CEO of the Air Connectivity Program, highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement with Delta Air Lines, emphasizing its role in fortifying direct air links between Saudi Arabia and the United States. He stated that the new Riyadh-Atlanta route would connect travelers to Delta's extensive network across North America, enhancing accessibility to Saudi Arabia from several priority markets and cities.

Albrahim further remarked that collaborating with a leading global airline aligns with ACP's mission to establish strategically significant routes. This cooperation not only connects cities directly but also broadens access to Saudi Arabia through airlines' global networks, contributing to the Kingdom's vision of expanding its tourism sector.

The agreement underlines ACP's ongoing efforts to partner with aviation and tourism stakeholders to attract more international carriers and increase seat capacity from key markets. These initiatives aim to bolster international tourism and support the objectives outlined in the Aviation Programme and Saudi Vision 2030.

By enhancing Saudi Arabia's global air connectivity, ACP seeks to draw more international airlines, develop direct routes to priority destinations, and improve access for global visitors to Saudi Arabia. The partnership with Delta epitomizes the growing collaboration with international carriers and underscores ACP's role in achieving the Kingdom's tourism and aviation goals, reinforcing its status as a premier global tourism hub.
