Jeddah: At the Jeddah Book Fair, Abrar Al-Othman shared her powerful journey as an author. Born with epidermolysis bullosa, commonly known as “butterfly skin” disease, she faces a rare genetic condition with no cure. Her childhood, marked by physical challenges, required a lifestyle of caution and resilience, but she transformed her pain into motivation for writing.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Abrar did not view her illness as a limitation; instead, she embraced it as a part of her identity that fueled her creativity. Her experiences became the foundation of her literary works, which reflect her challenges and triumphs.

Her guiding principle is encapsulated in the word “hope,” which defines her journey and inspires her writing. Throughout her career, Abrar has published several books that convey her message of resilience and empowerment, earning recognition and numerous awards from prestigious organizations.
