Clerics and citizens of the Christian component organized a gathering at Marpolus Church in the city of Mosul, to protest the incident of burning the Holy Quran.

The Chaldean Archbishop in Mosul, Bishop Najeeb Musa, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): "The gathering protest sends a message of rejection of the disgraceful act that took place in Sweden."

He stressed the need to stop these behaviors that offend religious symbols and hold their perpetrators accountable, likening these practices to a new ISIS.
