75 Wildlife Species Released into King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve

Riyadh: The National Center for Wildlife (NCW), in cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority, has successfully released 75 wildlife species into the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve. This initiative marks a significant effort towards biodiversity conservation and the reintroduction of endangered species into their natural habitats.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this recent release brings the total number of wildlife species released by the NCW to over 10,000. The release included 50 Arabian sand gazelles and 25 Arabian oryxes, underscoring the center's commitment to breeding and reintroduction programs aimed at supporting ecosystem sustainability and enhancing biodiversity.

Dr. Mohammed Ali Qurban, Chief Executive Officer of NCW, emphasized that field releases are a core component of the center's strategy. These efforts are crucial for strengthening the presence of wildlife in natural habitats and ensuring ecosystem stability. The center employs a scientific methodology that involves meticulous planning and assessment prior to any release.
