The interventional radiology team at the King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah has successfully treated a 67-year-old Indian pilgrim who was suffering from a venous thrombosis in the ankle and the right pelvis, resulting in a swollen foot that made her unable to walk.
The Ministry of Health said that the patient was transferred earlier to the X-ray operating room, where she underwent a two-hour operation using a clot removal device.
The ministry added that the pilgrim's condition is stable now, and she is able to walk again.
