According to Saudi Press Agency, the Syrian National Earthquake Center reported that the earthquake occurred approximately 107 kilometers northwest of Aleppo city, along the Dead Sea Fault.

Areas in northern and northwestern Syria are experiencing frequent earthquakes due to the region's tectonic activity and its long history of seismicity.
