Jeddah: The 31st edition of the FIBA Asia Cup for Men kicks off today at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah and will run from August 5 to 17, featuring 16 national teams vying for the continental title.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the teams are divided into four groups, with the top team from each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals. The second- and third-placed teams in each group will compete in a playoff round for the remaining quarterfinal spots.
Group A includes Qatar, Australia, Korea, and Lebanon. Group B features Guam, Japan, Syria, and Iran. Group C comprises China, Jordan, India, and host nation Saudi Arabia. Group D includes Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, Iraq, and the Philippines.
