Riyadh: The Saudi Competitiveness and Business Center's (SCBC) Public Consultation Platform, Istitlaa, has unveiled 25 projects concerning economic and development matters. In collaboration with 19 government agencies, SCBC is inviting feedback from the public, government entities, and the private sector on these projects prior to their approval.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a significant project on the platform is the 'Implementing Regulations of the Law on the Management of Seized and Confiscated Funds in Money Laundering Crimes, Related Predicate Offenses, and Terrorist Financing Crimes,' initiated by the General Commission for the Guardianship of Trust Funds for Minors and Their Counterparts. This initiative seeks to streamline the commission's operations by establishing clear procedures for handling funds under the law, while promoting transparency and efficiency. Feedback for this project is open until August 27, 2026.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has introduced the 'Updated Executive Regulation for Protecting Water Environments from Pollution' project. It seeks to align regulations with the Cabinet Resolution No. (406), which endorses the Regulation of the General Organization for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Sea Turtles in the Red Sea. Public input for this project is accepted until August 28, 2026.
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission is also seeking feedback on the project 'Updates to Retail Telecom Service Tariff Regulations.' This project focuses on improving access to advanced telecommunications services, boosting competitiveness in the telecommunications sector, and ensuring equality and non-discrimination. Feedback is welcome until August 28, 2026.
Additionally, the Transport General Authority has launched the 'Requirements for Running a Parcel Station' project. Its objectives include regulating the sector, enhancing the investment environment, improving last-mile service quality, fostering competition, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Public feedback is open until September 1, 2026.
The presentation of draft regulations and projects via the Istitlaa platform underscores a commitment to increased transparency in legislative processes. Furthermore, Istitlaa promotes public engagement by allowing citizens, government agencies, and the private sector to offer their perspectives and suggestions on proposed business environment regulations.
