Brussels, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dosari, Ambassador of Bahrain to Belgium and Head of the Diplomatic Mission to the European Union (EU), led the Bahraini delegation at the 8th Brussels Conference on "Supporting the future of Syria and the region". The conference was attended by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy; the UN Secretary-General; Foreign Ministers from neighboring countries, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon; Ministers, senior officials, and ambassadors from the EU and Arab countries, and representatives from UN bodies and international organisations. The conference is aimed at mobilising vital financial support to meet the most urgent needs of Syrians and their host communities and to renew the international community's support for a political solution to the crisis in Syria, in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Geneve, Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hasan, the Minister of Health, participated in the opening of 77th World Health Assembly, held under the title 'Health for All, All for Health'. The minister delivered Bahrain's statement at the meeting. She emphasised that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is committed to the development of healthcare as a top national priority. Dr. Al Sayed added that the comprehensive approach for advancing healthcare in the kingdom focuses on high-quality, accessible healthcare for all Bahraini citizens, demonstrating the country's dedication to the well-being of its people. She added that initiatives to achieve this include investing in infrastructure, developing workforces, and accommodating global objectives for digital transformation. The minister spoke about Bahrain's initiative proposed at the 33rd Arab Summit on improving healthcare for thos e affected by conflicts in the region. The initiative also aims at developing the pharmaceutical and vaccine industry in Arab countries, and ensuring the availability of medicine and treatment, in cooperation and joint coordination between the Arab League, the World Health Organisation and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (30) of 2024, restructuring the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), based on a proposal by the Minister of Tourism. Article (I) The BTEA Board of Directors will be reconstituted, chaired by the Minister of Tourism, and include the following members: 1- The President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA). (Member) 2- The CEO of BTEA. (Member) 3- The Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Registration and Companies at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (Member) 4- The Executive Director of Tourism, Education, and Healthcare Investments at Bahrain EDB. (Member) 5- The CEO of Gulf Air. (Member) 6- The Chairman of BCCI Hospitality and Tourism Committee. (Member) 7- The Managing Director of Local Impact Investment at Mumtalakat. (Member) The term of membership in the Board shall be four years, and is renewable for a similar period. Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (31) of 2024, appointing a director at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, based on a proposal by the Minister of Transportation and Communications. Article (I) Fadwa Abdulaziz Yaqoub Zaid, shall be appointed as the Director of the Land Transportation Projects Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Article (II) The Minister of Transportation and Communications shall implement the provisions of this Edict, which comes into effect from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
