Under the Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Umm Al-Qura University to Organize the 21st Scientific Forum for Hajj and Umrah Research

Makkah The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, at Umm Al-Qura University, intends to organize the 21st scientific forum under the slogan: "Digital Transformation in the Hajj, Umrah and Visitation System" next year.

In that regard, the university invites researchers from Saudi universities and those interested from different sectors to participate in the forum, which will be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to submit working and scientific papers that serve the Hajj and Umrah sectors, and enrich the experience of the pilgrimage.

The university said that it has started receiving working papers and abstracts through the electronic forum portal (https://hajj.uqu.edu.sa/multaqa/21/index.php) with a deadline that ends on 14/1-1443 AH, while acceptance of full scientific papers ends on 13-3-1443 AH, adding that all accepted researches will be published within the scientific record of the forum, whereas distinguished researches will be included in the special edition of the university’s scientific journals.

Dean of the Institute, Dr. Turki Al-Amro, said the forum is an opportunity for researchers and decision-makers to present Hajj and Umrah-related researches, and exchange views according to the latest technologies and scientific practices, in order to boost the development of services provided to pilgrims, noting that the forum focuses on strengthening the governance of digital transformation in the Hajj, Umrah, and visitation system, by discussing legislation, regulations, and the digital infrastructure, as well as reviewing its role in economic, environmental, and social sustainability, in addition to its employment in improving services provided to guests of the two holy mosques, and facilitating their access to the two holy shrines.
