Baghdad - The newspapers issued today, Sunday, paid attention to the visit of the Kurdistan Region delegation to Baghdad, and followed the activities of Gulf 25.

Al-Zawraa newspaper, which is issued by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, said that the Kurdistan Democratic Party set the objectives of the visit of the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, headed by Masrour Barzani, to Baghdad.

A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, MP Mahma Khalil, said that the visit of the prime minister Masrour Barzani region to Baghdad comes within cooperation with the federal government and resolving problems between the region and the center in accordance with the constitutional and legal entitlements.

He added: The aim of the visit is to resolve issues in the budget and put the final touches to it before sending it to Parliament. Pointing out that the region's share of oil and gas are the most prominent files that were discussed between officials.

He pointed out: The visit is a continuation of previous visits in order to strengthen cooperation between the governments of the region and the center and resolve any dispute between the two governments. He stressed that the visit comes in support of the government in various political and economic fields.

For his part, the researcher on Kurdish affairs, Ali Al-Ziyadi, said that the differences between the two main Kurdish parties in the Kurdistan region are rooted and show their intensity from time to time. Pointing out that the recent visit of the Kurdish delegation to Baghdad, headed by Masrour Barzani, head of the regional government and the son of the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the presence of a representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, aroused the ire of the PUK, which considers itself a major influential party in the region and the federal government.

He added: These differences will increase more in the coming days, especially with the entitlements of the Kurds, whether in the budget or special grades and others. Indicating: that the differences are not in the interest of the citizens because they will be reflected in their own benefit, such as services, salaries, and others.

For its part, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan expressed its surprise at the direction of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to Baghdad without consulting the PUK, indicating that the Kurdish differences are deep and it was better for them to resolve them before going to Baghdad.

The leader of the PUK, Ghiath Al-Surji, said in a press statement: “The past three months have not witnessed any meeting between the PUK and the KDP amid a boycott by the PUK of the cabinet sessions in Erbil.”

Al-Sorji added, "The Kurdish dispute is still ongoing and cannot be resolved easily, especially with the KDP's insistence on its approval of the Kurdistan elections."

He pointed out that “the Prime Minister of Kurdistan, Masrour Barzani, was better for him to go to the Kurdish leaders and unify positions instead of going alone to achieve narrow Kurdish interests that will be rejected by Baghdad.”

Al-Zaman newspaper paid attention to the Gulf 25 and said that the Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, described the Gulf 25 tournament held in Basra Governorate as an Arab and fraternal wedding on the land of Iraq.

A statement said that (Al-Sudani hosted a lunch for the delegation of the Gulf football federations participating in the tournament, a number of football stars in the Gulf countries, and an elite group of Gulf media professionals, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, the President of the Iraqi Football Association, a number of federation members and the governor of Basra).

Al-Sudani welcomed them and expressed his gratitude to the participants and contributors to the success of the tournament and the decision to host it in Basra.

He pointed out (the symbolic importance of this championship, and the keenness of the Council of Ministers, within fifty days of the life of the government, to overcome all obstacles to its launch).

He stressed that (the championship turned into an Arab wedding and a fraternal meeting on the land of Iraq, in what is more than a mere sporting event).

He added that (the facilities that accompanied the tournament on the borders will continue beyond that, and that the Iraqis welcome their brothers from the Gulf countries among their families and brothers). Iraq achieved a difficult number in the Gulf Cup.

The communication sites circulated, quoting the Five Star Football website, a report stating that (Gulf 25 in Basra broke the record for the highest public attendance in the history of the Gulf championships, which was recorded in the Gulf 15 in Saudi Arabia, where the crowd attendance at the time reached more than 355,000 fans, while the Gulf championship currently held in Basra until the end of the group stage, more than 427,000 fans participated in it, and it is expected that this number will increase further with the end of the tournament).

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, instructed the players of the national team to be honored.

A statement said, "Rashid met with the national team players and the coaching and administrative staff, and expressed his congratulations on their well-deserved victory and their qualification first in their group within the current edition of the Gulf Cup."

He added that (this came in the aftermath of the team's last match after its victory over its Yemeni counterpart, where Rashid instructed to honor the members of the team, in appreciation of their efforts and their wonderful performance, and for their victory, which drew joy on the faces of the Iraqis).

He called on the players to (exert more effort and perseverance on the field and during training to achieve the good results that the Iraqis are waiting for, which would enhance the country's standing in sports at the global level).

For his part, the national team players expressed their thanks and appreciation to the president for this generous initiative, which reflects his interest in the sports movement, and his keenness to achieve the best results and raise the name of Iraq in international forums. Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, gave his thanks to the President of the Gulf Sports Media Federation, Salem Al-Habsi on the honorable position of the Gulf sports media and its positive role in the success of the tournament .

A statement stated that (the meeting touched on a number of files related to the institutional sports media and how to activate it in a way that contributes and positively affects the event in a manner commensurate with the size of the expected tasks and responsibilities in light of the Iraqi Gulf joy and the great results it has produced so far).

Al-Mubarqa' referred to his "absolute belief in the media's ability to positively influence all relevant files in a manner inspired by the field and the current experience in Basra, and what the media men and the press of all kinds and means did well during the championship days."

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Gulf federations for their contribution to the success of the 25th Gulf Championship.

A statement from his office stated, “Al-Sudani received the President of the Gulf and Qatar Football Associations, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and a number of heads of other Gulf federations, and a group of Gulf media professionals, including Khaled Jassim, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa'a, and the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, a number of Assossation members and the governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani.

Al-Sudani expressed, according to the statement, "his gratitude to the Gulf federations for their contribution to the success of the tournament, as well as encouraging the Iraqi Assossation to host other tournaments."
