SIMEC Concludes in Riyadh with Arab, International Participation

Riyadh, The Saudi International Marine Exhibition and Conference (SIMEC), organized by the National Fisheries Development Program, has been concluded under the patronage and in presence of Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, head of the program, where the event was held between January 30, and February 1, 2022 in Riyadh.

More than 30 countries and 70 international and local companies took part in the conference, in addition to more than 150 international businesspeople and 1,500 Saudi businesspeople. Two high-level ministerial sessions were held with the participation of 8 ministers and undersecretaries from 8 GCC and Arab countries.

The conference also included holding 4 scientific discussion panels and 12 technical and technological workshops with the participation of 50 international and local speakers from international universities, expertise, Saudi and foreign private sector companies and relevant public institutions.

These sessions recommended to enhance the fishery sector to realize food security and the sustainability of the sector.
