Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-LatifDerian, welcomed at Dar al-Fatwa on Tuesday United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed Al-Shamsi.
Talks between the pair reportedly focused on an array of Islamic and national affairs, including the present conditions of Dar al-Fatwa religious apparatuses and the current financial crisis endured by Al-Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut.
Ambassador Shamsi told Mufti Derian that the UAE closely follows up on the Islamic and national affairs in Lebanon, saying "the UAE always stands by the Lebanese people and its state and civil institutions for the progress of the Lebanese state."
Shamsi affirmed that "the UAE stands besides Dar al-Ftawa to continue with its Islamic moderate and centrist role in Lebanon and the Arab world."
Mufti Derian, for his part, heaped praise on the "pioneering role played by the UAE in Lebanon and the Arab region and its constant follow-up on the Islamic affairs of Dar Al-Fatwa and its Islamic institutions."
The Mufti also highly commended the UAE's role in cooperation with the Arab coalition to rescue Yemen and support its legitimate institutions, stressing that Yemen shall always remain an indispensable part of the Arab nation.
