Al-baha: Coffee cultivation in Al-Baha stands out as a vivid expression of authentic local agriculture, closely linked with the region’s renowned hospitality. At the heart of this tradition is Shadawi coffee, recognized as one of the finest coffee varieties in the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the coffee farms of Al-Baha are located between the Shada Al-Asfal (Lower) and Shada Al-A’la (Upper) mountains, blessed with fertile soil and abundant water, providing ideal conditions for cultivation and quality production. The cooperative sector plays an active role in expanding and supporting this vital agricultural field.
Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture’s Al-Baha branch Fahad Al-Zahrani noted that the region hosts more than 450 coffee farms, with over 115,000 trees producing premium varieties. This firmly establishes Al-Baha as a key center for Arabian coffee production in Saudi Arabia.
Efforts to expand the industry not only reinforce coffee as a distinctive pillar of the national agricultural sector but also enhance Al-Baha’s appeal as a destination for lovers of authentic Arabian coffee.
