The Arab Parliament has announced the election of a member of the Saudi Shura Council, Hazza bin Bakr Al-Qahtani, as First Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament for a period of two years.

This came in the procedural session devoted to electing a speaker of the Arab Parliament, its four deputies, and heads of committees, held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

During the session, Jordanian MP Khalil Attia was elected as second deputy speaker of parliament, Iraqi MP Shaalan Abdul-Jabbar Al-Karim as third deputy speaker, and Egyptian MP Alaa Abed as fourth deputy speaker.
