Riyadh: Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz inaugurated 82 development projects on Sunday evening in the environment, water, and agriculture sectors in the region, with a total cost exceeding SAR9.8 billion. He also laid the foundation stone for 99 additional development projects in the sector, valued at over SAR28.3 billion, supporting environmental and water sustainability goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Riyadh Region governor emphasized that these projects reflect the continued strong support from the Kingdom’s leadership for the environment, water, and the agriculture sector, directly impacting people’s lives. He noted that the projects represent a qualitative leap toward achieving environmental, water, and agricultural sustainability, supporting natural resources and providing a healthy and safe environment that enhances the quality of life for citizens and residents.
He also highlighted the inclusion of the ‘North Riyadh Geopark’ project on the UNESCO list, noting that this international recognition reflects the wise guidance of the Kingdom’s leadership and the meticulous, integrated role played by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The North Riyadh Geopark project covering more than 3,000 square kilometers, spans parts of Thadiq Governorate and several neighboring villages. It serves as an open-air natural museum documenting the Earth’s history and evolution over hundreds of millions of years.
