Jeddah: The Ministry of Interior held preparatory meetings for the Supervisory Committee of the Makkah Route Initiative in preparation for the upcoming 1447 AH Hajj season. The meetings took place during the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025 in Jeddah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meetings saw attendance from representatives of the countries benefiting from and targeted by the Makkah Route Initiative for the eighth year, alongside members of the initiative’s Supervisory Committee.

The Makkah Route Initiative was implemented by the Ministry of Interior at 12 airports in eight countries. This vast undertaking involved cooperation with multiple Saudi entities, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media, as well as the General Authority of Civil Aviation; the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority; the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA); the General Authority for Awqaf; the Pilgrim Experience Program; and the General Directorate of Passports.
