King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) organized yesterday an introductory workshop for the emergency aid project to improve agricultural livelihoods for the population affected by the humanitarian crisis and the Coronavirus, which is being implemented in Lahj and Al-Dhale'e, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The workshop, which was held in Aden, will last for five days, during which around 50 participants will receive basic knowledge and concepts for capacity development in crops and livestock.

The project aims to benefit 24,030 affected families, comprised of 168,212 individuals, in the governorates of Lahj and Al-Dhale'e, by distributing agricultural production inputs for crop production and animal feed, towards achieving the overall goal of improving food and nutritional security for the targeted families by supporting agricultural production and food diversity.

Yemeni Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Director of the Agriculture Office in Lahij Governorate, Abdul Malik Naji Obaid, praised the Center’s support for the various affected Yemeni governorates, and its interest in supporting the affected farmers’ segment through the implementation of this project, which benefits thousands of families.

This effort comes within the framework of Humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Center, to enhance food security and support farmers and livestock in Yemen.
