Riyadh: King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) signed a strategic partnership with Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group to strengthen research collaboration in the fields of genomics, artificial intelligence (AI), genetic data science, and biomedical laboratories.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement was signed during the Global Health Summit 2025 by KACST First Vice President for Research and Development Dr. Talal Al-Sudairy and medical group chief executive Faisal Al-Nassar, in the presence of officials from both sides.
The partnership aims to exchange expertise and transfer knowledge, facilitate access to laboratory and research facilities, and implement joint projects in laboratory-based AI and big-data analytics. It also supports the development of training programs and the qualification of national talent in scientific research and advanced biotechnologies.
The collaboration focuses on supporting the Saudi Genome Program and biobanking initiatives, providing clinical samples and research data for joint scientific projects, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in laboratory sciences through business incubators and accelerators.
The collaboration aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 targets to advance scientific research and innovation, and to enable the healthcare sector to adopt future technologies in precision medicine and AI.
The partnership also supports the efforts of KACST’s national laboratory to strengthen the Kingdom’s research, development, and innovation ecosystem and accelerate technological advancement in precision medicine, biotechnology, and AI – ultimately improving healthcare quality and contributing to the realization of Vision 2030.
