Jordan and Sweden are scheduled to co-host a ministerial conference Tuesday in Brussels, Belgium, to drum up support for UNRWA.

The meeting, which will be hosted by Ayman Safadi, Jordan's foreign minister, and his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde, will see the participation of representatives of 60 countries and organisations.

The conference is aimed at drumming up political and financial support for the UN agency to continue providing its vital services to more than 5.7 Palestinians.

Jordan, alongside Sweden, has organised several conferences that have sought to bolster support for UNRWA and to address the deficit in its budget, the latest of which was in 2020.
