Baghdad, Aug. The head of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) Staff Lieutenant-General Abdulwahab Al-Saadi received here today the Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) Dr. Mansour Alshammari, currently on a visit to Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed joint efforts to combat extremist ideology.

The CTS head praised Etidal role in following up and dismantling extremist discourse, stressing the CTS's interest in joint cooperation with Etidal and benefiting from the competencies and experiences between the two sides.

For his part, Dr. Al-Shammari valued the role played by the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service in confronting terrorist organizations and avoiding their dangers, pointing to the importance of the Iraqi expertise, including its visions and strategies towards combating terrorism.
