Germany’s Chancellor Starts First Trip to Africa since Taking Office

Berlin-- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz set off on Sunday for his first trip to Africa since taking office some six months ago, the dpa reported.

During his visit to Senegal, Niger and South Africa, climate change, economic cooperation, the fight against pandemics and the strengthening of democracies in Africa are to be discussed.

Scholz is to visit the three countries in three days.
