GCC Welcomes UN Security Council’s Statement Condemning Houthi Terrorist Militia’s Attacks on UAE Facilities

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Dr. Naif Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf welcomed the statement issued by the United Nations Security Council unanimously today, which condemned the Houthi militia terrorist attacks on facilities in the United Arab Emirates, which took place last Monday.
Dr. Al-Hajraf said that the issuance of this statement by the UN Security Council comes as a confirmation of the importance that the international community, represented by the Security Council, attaches to the Yemeni crisis, which was fabricated by the Houthi militia through its coup against the constitutional legitimacy, stressing the firm position of the Cooperation Council on ending the Yemeni crisis through a political solution in accordance with the three references, represented by the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution 2216.
He also called on the Houthi militia to respond to the calls for a ceasefire and to engage positively in the efforts made by the United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen to resume political consultations between the Yemeni parties without preconditions in order to achieve security and stability for Yemen, and to address the deterioration of the humanitarian situation resulting from the continued practices of the Houthi militia in the siege of cities and preventing humanitarian aid from reaching Yemeni areas in need.
