Baghdad, Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein affirmed that the meetings with the Saudi side that were held in Baghdad were fruitful and will benefit the citizens of the two countries, indicating the continuation of work to implement the electrical interconnection agreement with Saudi Arabia.”
Hussein said in a joint press conference with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan through a closed-circuit television, that “the meetings with the Saudi side were fruitful and will benefit the citizens of the two countries and focused on several security, political and economic files,” indicating: “Iraq wants to benefit from the Saudi experience in the fight against terrorism.
He added, “Iraq and Saudi Arabia will cooperate in the field of combating terrorism, on the security and intellectual level.”
For his part, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, stressed that the relationship with Iraq is important and our investments will not focus on a specific region, and that Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Iraq is important for the stability of the region and we are very optimistic.
He added, “Our investments in Iraq will be distinguished and will not focus on a specific region. It is also possible to implement Iraqi investments in Saudi Arabia.
He continued that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues security cooperation with Iraq, especially in combating terrorism and extremism.”
