Education Minister receives outstanding students

Manama: Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi received Bahraini students who were declared winners in the 8th Gulf Maths Olympiad and the 4th Physics Olympiad.

The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa.

More than 70 students representing the GCC countries took part in the competitions which were organized in Saudi Arabia by the Arab Bureau for Education for The Gulf.

Bahraini students accomplished good results, bagging one silver medal and three bronze medals in the Math Olympiad and two bronze medals in the Physics Olympiad.

Dr. Al Nuaimi praised the efforts of students, school administrations and coordinators, citing the 2021 annual education and training report which highlighted Bahraini students’ achievements in maths and physics, based on international benchmarks.

The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments praised the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Education in support of students who took part in the competitions.

He expressed pride, as father of the winning students, in the honourable results achieved by Bahraini students, paying tribute to teachers and coordinators for their efforts.

The event was also attended by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Undersecretary Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and other officials.

Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa won a silver meda while Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Mariam Yusuf Jaffer and Khadija Hassan Saleh bagged bronze medals in the Maths Olympiad.

In the Physics Olympiad, Jaffer Al Sadiq Mohammed and Zahra Hussein Isa Jaffer won bronze medals.
