Culture Ministry to Hold “International Opera Festival” with Participation of International Musicians

Riyadh– The Ministry of Culture is scheduled to organize “International Opera Festival”, which will be held for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Abu Baker Salem Stage in Boulevard Riyadh City between June 18 and 20 with the participation of international opera stars.

The festival will include a special exhibition for opera with classic arts and associated possessions, such as fashion, and opera history with its musical instruments, with having an interactive monitor that allows visitors to know about the opera works, performers and actors around the world, where it will include international opera shows and opera performances from across the world that will be displayed for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition will also provide an opportunity to listen to old and rare opera music through specialized areas and places and shed light on the top opera theaters.

The festival will offer educational workshops on several topics, such as: opera singing, theoretical and practical explanation on the mechanisms of making sounds in this art, acquainting the public with orchestra and the history of musical instruments, opera history and a workshop on playing piano.

Organizing the festival is supported by the Quality of Life Program, which is a program for realizing the Saudi Vision 2030, and is part of the ministry’s keenness to open new cultural windows through hosting international cultural event with various art fields to enrich the cultural scene in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and provide qualitative options for the Saudi audience.
