Capital Governor to participate in World Cities Summit

Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa will head the Capital Governorate's delegation to the 9th World Cities Summit which is slated to convene in Singapore from July 8 to 11, in the presence of senior officials, governors and Mayors from all over the world, at an invitation by Singaporean Minister for National Development and Second Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong.

The summit, which will be held under the theme Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Embracing the Future Through Innovation and Collaboration, is considered as an exclusive international platform to discuss crucial urbanisation challenges and work out solutions and proposals.

The Capital Governorate's participation in the summit aims to avail of international experiences and innovated solutions in urban areas. Model cities around the world will also come under the spotlight.

The Capital Governor will also participate in a ceremony to announce Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize 2018 which is granted every two years to a city for its best innovated urban solutions practices.
