A plane of Gulf Air Company, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has arrived at Port Sudan International Airport with urgent medical relief aid onboard.

The consignment was dispatched in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The plane was received on arrival at the airport by Bahraini Ambassador to Sudan, Abdullah Rabia Saeed Rabia and senior Sudanese officials.

The ambassador affirmed Bahrain’s inherent approach in supporting brotherly and friendly countries to overcome different challenges.

The aid consignment reflects brotherly ties binding the two countries and peoples.

The ambassador noted that the urgent medical relief aid will be distributed on hospitals to make up for the shortage of medical equipment and support the Sudanese people to overcome the crisis.

His Eminence Al Sayyed Ali Al Amin, member of the Council of Muslim Elders, affirmed Bahrain’s status and role in promoting interfaith dialogue, with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Eminence spoke to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Muslim-Christian Dialogue between the Muslim Council of Elders and the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.

His Eminence Al Amin added that this meeting is one of the outcomes of the " Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence", which was held under the patronage of HM the King last November, and brought together His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican.

He said that today's meeting comes in order to continue promoting the values of dialogue and communication between followers of different religions and cultures.

Al Amin said he had proposal of establishing a joint institute for religious studies that aims at spreading the values of tolerance, cooperation and dialogue between religions, as a way of delivering the forum's humanitarian message.

He expressed his hope that the forum would continue to be held in Bahrain, which could serve as the permanent headquarters for the Permanent Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue between the Council of Muslim Elders and the Vatican, as this meeting is only the beginning of many that will undoubtedly take place in the future.

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi, Minister of Information, received today representatives of Entajat, an international cinematic production company.

Present at the meeting were Entajat Chairman Khalid Yousef Al Dosseri, CEO Tala’at Captan, Deputy CEO Mohammed Yousif Al Dosseri, CCO Paul Hudson and other partners and company officials.

The Minister of Information affirmed the ministry’s keenness to provide a favourable economic and creative climate for investment in production projects, and to support the private sector and foreign investors in the development of creative industries.

Entajat officials thanked the Minister of Information for the meeting, stressing keenness on working in Bahrain and dedicating their international experiences in cinematic production to achieve common interests.

Entajat is a Bahraini-American company specializing in cinematic production, with vast experience in this domain.

Religious leaders have stressed the importance of promoting inter-faith dialogue in order to reach a coexistent, solidary and cooperative society.

They were speaking on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Muslim-Christian Dialogue between the Muslim Council of Elders and the Vatican, hosted by Manama today.

The meeting brought together representatives of the Muslim Council of Elders and the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.

In this regard, former Deputy of Al-Azhar Al Sharif, Dr. Abbas Shouman, stressed the importance of holding the meeting in the kingdom, noting that it will assert and apply the principles of inter-faith dialogue, as well as propose mechanisms to promote them.

It will also benefit from mutual values to promote dialogue and pave the way towards having coexistent societies that uphold human dignity and support development paths in all fields, he added.

Muslim Council of Elders member, Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, praised the kingdom's hosting of the first meeting of the Permanent Committee, noting that it will contribute to consolidating Islamic-Christian dialogue and rapprochement, towards achieving the interests of the entire humanity.

He indicated that the meeting of the Permanent Committee of the Muslim-Christian Dialogue is one the outcomes of the "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and west for Human Coexistence", held in Bahrain under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in November 2022.

He affirmed that stepping up efforts and initiatives aimed at consolidating dialogue and coexistence worldwide, as well as boosting Islamic-Christian dialogue were on the agenda of the first meeting of the Permanent Committee.
