Riyadh-- The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry have today inked an agreement to set up an integrated logistics park at Al Khumrah in the south of Jeddah at a cost of one billion riyals.

The logistics development will further bolster Mawani’s role as a key player in the national transportation ecosystem and boost its drive to position the Kingdom as a global logistics destination in line with the ambitions of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), alongside realizing the outcomes of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) that aim to transform Al Khumrah into a world-leading platform for logistics and supply chain activities.

Designed for optimum asset utilization, the park is set to create over 10,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in the logistics sector while strengthening Jeddah Islamic Port’s pivotal position as a major maritime hub delivering top-tier services and increased throughput capacity.

Spread over 3 sq. km., the logistics park comprises of three zones that include shared warehouses, medium-sized storage yards and single warehouses, and large storage yards and on-demand warehouses. The various zones fulfill importers’ and exporters’ requirements of stocking multipurpose cargo, chilled and frozen goods, food commodities, and fragile goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in addition to housing dedicated areas for administrative, commercial, and residential use as well as a one-stop services center.

The park offers move-in-ready warehouses, storage yards, re-export zones, custom storage, logistics amenities, commercial units, residential units, and staff accommodation in addition to state-of-the-art infrastructure like roads and green spaces as well as a host of other essential services.

Kyiv-- In an implementation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's announcement on October 15, 2022, during a phone call between His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, to provide an additional humanitarian aid package to Ukraine worth $400 million, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, today, attended the signing ceremony of an agreement and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Kingdom and Ukraine, with a total value of up to $400 million.

The agreement includes a joint cooperation program for providing humanitarian assistance from the Kingdom to Ukraine worth $100 million, co-signed by the Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah and the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov.

The MoU also includes financing of $300 million worth of oil derivatives as a grant from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) in favour of Ukraine. It was signed by the CEO of SFD, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad and the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko.

The signing of the agreement and the MoU reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting Ukraine and its people in facing the social and economic challenges that the country is going through and contributing to alleviating the effects resulting from it.

The event was held at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh's Diplomatic Quarter (DQ), and was attended by Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairy, the Undersecretary of Riyadh Region's Principality, on behalf of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region.

Upon his arrival, the Undersecretary was welcomed by Saud Al-Harbi, Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of Kuwait, and several other embassy staff. Kyiv-- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine received Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his accompanying delegation at the presidential headquarters in Kyiv today.

At the outset of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Ukrainian President and the government and people of Ukraine. President Zelenskyy sent his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, the government, and the Saudi people.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the opportunities for their development. They also discussed several regional and international issues and developments of common concern. The Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed the Kingdom's keenness and support for all international efforts to resolve the Ukrainian-Russian crisis politically. Additionally, he mentioned that the Kingdom will continue its efforts to contribute to alleviating the human effects resulting from the crisis.

The Embassy also expressed solidarity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Brazil in this catastrophe, wishing safety for the missing, and a speedy recovery for the injured.
