Baghdad, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nadhim received an invitation to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the 7th and 8th of next April.
A statement by the Ministry of Culture stated: “A virtual meeting took place between the Minister of Culture and the Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khatib.”
According to the statement, the Saudi minister affirmed his country’s keenness to develop the relationship between the two brotherly countries, and extended an invitation to the Minister of Culture to visit the Kingdom, on the occasion of the opening of the regional office for tourism in Saudi Arabia, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization and a number of ministers.
Al-Khatib added, “Measures will be taken to unify tourism protocols among Arab countries, and there will be support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host the World Tourism Day, as well as unify health protocols to start the return of normal life after the discovery of vaccines this year.”
The Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council was formed last year for joint cooperation between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and the activation of some joint projects between the two countries within the framework of the Arab League, in addition to discussing the implementation plans of the agreements, the memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries, and discussing the joint files with the membership of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities.
