Secretary General of the Council of Ministers discussed with the World Food Program the modernization of the ration card

Baghdad, The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Dr. Mahdi Al-Alaq discussed with the World Food Program the mechanism to develop the ration card system and convert it from Fox Pro to a modern language suitable for the development of database systems using modern technologies.

During the meeting with the Representative of the World Food Program in Iraq, Maha Mohammed Ahmed and the delegation accompanying her, and representatives of the Department of Planning and Follow-up in the Iraqi Ministry of Commerce, according to a statement of the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, to promote joint work and accelerate the modernization of the ration card system (digital identity) Government reform programs aimed at reforming the ration card system and linking it to the citizen database in the social protection network.

The meeting witnessed a review of the strategic project that the World Food Program is working on, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Commerce, for the purpose of enhancing the food security of millions of Iraqis by building a solid database that helps in eliminating fraud and repetition, and benefit from them in drawing accurate statistics, and the possibility of trading among ministries and state institutions through electronic connectivity and disposal of paper correspondence and simplification of procedures for citizens without the need to review other state departments.

For her part, the representative of the World Food Program in Iraq expressed her happiness for continued joint cooperation between the two sides and the implementation of the system for Iraq and its people and to ensure that citizens receive their food benefits.
