Demonstrations In Zubayr District, 2 Demonstrators Suffered Burning While Trying To Set Fire To Tires In Local Council Building

Basra, Demonstrations renewed in front of the local council building in al-Zubayr district, west of Basra on Thursday morning to demand better services and provide employment opportunities for the unemployed, amid tight security measures.

Two demonstrators suffered burning as they attempted to set fire to tires in front of the local council building to protest against the failure of implementing their demands.

The province of Basra last night, witnessed angry demonstrations resulted in the death of a demonstrator and injuring 25 others, some of them seriously, as demonstrators set fire to government buildings, including the office of the province and the Directorate of Municipalities and Abu al-Khasib district, south of Basra.
