Salmabad access-way completed

Manama, The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning announced that it has completed the construction works of the new access-way to Salmabad Industrial and Commercial Area. The ministry explained that this enhancement process will facilitate the traffic movement, thus enabling drivers easy access to West Salmabad area.

The road will serve Bahrain IKEA Showroom as well as future commercial projects in the area. The ministry affirmed that the project is a new access-way into the area and will contribute to smoothening the traffic flow as it includes two lanes for entering West Salmabad area from Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Avenue and one lane to exit into Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Avenue.

Moreover, the project includes the construction of a dual road to link between Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Avenue and Avenue 100. The ministry said that the intake capacity of the road reaches approximately 3,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, adding, that the project will contribute to boosting the roads network that serve the new Salmabad Commercial and Industrial Area.

The ministry pointed out that more exit/entry access-ways will constructed in the area after finalization of the land interventions and adjustment of their status within the general new plan of the area resulting in a fully-integrated road network in West Salmabad.

The project constitutes part of the comprehensive plan undertaken by the ministry to develop the commercial projects service infrastructure and further boosting the Kingdom's attractive economic and investment sectors and achievement of easy shuttling of customers as well as frequenters of vital and commercial projects

It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom's transportation sector has always received the leadership's undivided attention and follow up because infrastructure development enhances Bahrain's economic growth closely interconnected with sustainable development whose success relies on the availability of essential infrastructures considered one of the main sectors that effectively contribute in the Kingdom's revitalisation.
