Sudanese President Holds Talks with his Chinese Counterpart

Khartoum, Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir held talks in Beijing today with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation being held in Beijing.

During the meeting, the Sudanese president affirmed his country's desire to establish programs for the strategic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries at various political, economic, social, cultural and health levels.

For his part, the Chinese president announced that his country will provide a grant of 400 million yuan to Sudan and 200 million yuan interest-free loan to be used in projects agreed upon.

He affirmed his country's support for Sudan's efforts to maintain peace and security through improving the security situation in Darfur.
