Construction work on new Buri road exit begins

In response to HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister's directives to develop urgent solutions to ease traffic flow across Bahrain, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has begun a project to build an exit from Buri toward Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman highway.

The exit, which will be constructed parallel to the entrance that was recently opened, will feature a rainwater drainage network, new road markings and signs to ensure the safety of road users in the area. Ground channels will also be developed to allow for future technical infrastructure development without road closures.

The project will boost road capacity from 500 to 900 vehicles per hour, reduce congestion, and provide commuters with a series of additional routes from Buri to Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway. This project forms part of an effort by the ministry to find urgent temporary solutions to congestion and facilitate greater access to commercial and residential areas throughout the Kingdom.
