Interior Minister briefed on King Fahad Causeway projects

Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has received Director-General of King Fahad Causeway Authority Fahad Mohammad Al Dawood on Thursday.

The minister welcomed Al Dawood and praised the brotherly Bahrain-Saudi ties and appreciated the organisation for its improved performance and for easing the causeway traffic.

He was briefed on the most important projects of the Authority in the coming years, including increasing the capacity of the procedures areas and the fee gates in both sides. The meeting discussed the gree lane for trucks in Bahrain's side.

The meeting also included a presentation about the significant increase in the causeway's traffic and the acheivements. The presentation also highlighted the future strategy of the organisation to be a regional and international role model through enhancing performance, systems and the best utilisation of technology.

Shaikh Rashid highlighted the importance to tackle traffic jams that occur on the causeway and the best benefit of manpower and modern technology, including the solar energy.

The Director-General thanked the minister for his keenness to implement the Causeway development projects.

Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the meeting.
