Bahrain’s efforts to achieve SDGs highlighted

Bahrain Labour Fund (Tamkeen) organized an Introductory session entitled (Promoting the spirit of initiative and creativity to promote the sustainable development goals) on the sidelines of Bahrain's participation in the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development being held in New York.

Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa, head of Bahrain's delegation, pointed out Bahrain's multiple successes in the field of achieving the SDGs, including Tamkeen as a national body takes an interest in rehabilitating national cadres to contribute to the development process seen in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He highlighted the Bahraini government's interest in investing in the human element in all its plans and programmes.

Tamkeen CEO Dr. Ibrahim Janahi said promoting the SDGs has been given a high priority in the royal development initiative, adding the session was a good opportunity to highlight Tamkeen's successful efforts to support the national economy and human cadres' development.

The session shed light on the national efforts to develop environments supportive to emerging enterprises. It also drew attention to Tamkeen's role, since its inception in 2006, in creating opportunities for promoting the private sector.
